In the passage on Jesus of Nazareth, Spielvogel is quick to point out the similarities between the Resurrection and the after-life myths of other ancient civilizations. Not only does Dr. Spielvogel overstate the similarities between Christianity and the mystery religions, but he mixes earlier death-life traditions of Osiris in the Isis religion with subsequent Serapis-sun god traditions in the same religion giving the false impression that the Isis mystery religion contained elements of a savior god who died and rose from the dead -- something that is not attested to by any records of antiquity.
